Nexxoils READi® Process - Key Technology for the Energy Transition
The Nexxoil READi® process is a patented thermochemical process. The raw materials can be continuously fed into a stirred tank reactor without prior complex pretreatment. There, they are converted at temperatures of up to 400 °C and pressures of up to 10 bar by a combination of deoxygenation and cracking reactions. The modular plant design allows decentralised processing directly at the point of origin of the waste. The resulting products – READi® oils – are high-quality fuel blending components as well as basic chemicals that can be used industrially.
The READi® process does not require catalysts, auxiliary materials or complex pretreatment, which significantly reduces investment and operating costs compared to conventional processes – while at the same time maintaining high yields and product quality.
In addition to the use of residual waste, alternative sources of raw materials, such as biodiesel by-products, are also being researched, and new fields of application are being opened up to drive the sustainable transformation of the energy and chemical industries. Glare levels of 10% and 15% have been successfully tested so far. Higher admixtures, such as R40 (40% renewable content – CBO, HVO and FAME) massively improve the CO2 footprint compared to the previously common B7 blends. The advantage is that the blends fully meet the requirements of DIN EN 590. This means that no adjustments to engine components or the existing infrastructure are necessary.
